Capital Kids

Crystal Beach Tennis Club has been selected as a location for the Capital Kids program by the Ontario Tennis Association (OTA) and the National Capital Tennis Association (NCTA). Major supporters are the City of Ottawa and the Trillium Foundation. This means that kids and youth from 6-15 years old receive coaching from qualified coaches in each month. Tentatively lessons will be provided on Wednesday, 4.30pm-8.30pm, and from 9am-1pm on Saturday and Sunday. Cost for the kids and youth will be $10 for the total of 4 group lessons of 1 hour each, spread out over a month. The program will operate in each of May, June, July and August for the season. If a child receives lessons in May, it is open to that child to join again for the June session for another $10 for 4 lessons in that month. The same rules would apply to July and August.

The program is open to all eligible kids and youth (age-wise) of Crystal Beach, Lakeview and other areas of Ottawa. They need not be members of the club to get the coaching. It is a major Ottawa effort to popularise tennis amongst the young.

Registration and other details are provided under the website:

NOTE: As we all know, there are Provincial and City restrictions for play on tennis courts regarding the COVID-19 situation. These will dictate when and how the Capital Kids program gets up and running. However, we encourage you to register your children now because, whenever the program commences, your child’s name will be already on the Capital Kids records and the coaching can be expedited.
