Volunteering at CBTC

There are many different ways for volunteers to provide their support including: opening and closing cleanup days (including installing and taking down nets), setting up/taking down signs or flyers to advertise registration or events, helping organize social events (e.g., Welcome BBQ), regular maintenance of the grounds and courts (e.g., weeding around Clubhouse and fence, sweeping courts), website updates, the Club end-of-year tournament, regular cleaning of washroom facilities in the clubhouse, coordination of interested players for tennis groups (e.g., men's, women's, mixed, ladders, or round robins).

Call-outs for volunteer opportunities are advertised through the membership contact list, through the Crystal Beach Lakeview Community Association news, and our website. If you're interested in heling out and being on our volunteer list,

Contact Us.

A number of other volunteers are needed to share the workload throughout the season. It is a particularly great way for students to earn volunteer hours. Such volunteers are key to helping keep the Club up and running throughout the season.

Executive Duties

The CBTC is managed by its Executive board members on behalf of the City of Ottawa, ensuring the Club is operation on a yearly basis. They carry out a number of important function including: liaising with the City, ensuring up keep of the courts and facilities, organizing opening and closing cleanups, handling memberships and membership questions, managing and overseeing the court booking platform, planning and managing finances, organizing events, arranging for programs and private instruction, supervising contractual and volunteer work, and maintaining communication with members of the Crystal Beach Lakeview community.

There's something for everyone and all offers of assistance are welcome!
